Thames Valley students compete in Special Olympics

Thames Valley students are set to enjoy three fun-filled days of fellowship and athletic events at the annual Special Olympics starting Tuesday, June 7-9 at Western Alumni Stadium (formerly TD Waterhouse).

The Special Olympics begin each day with an Olympic March and Opening Ceremonies followed by track and field events and other special activities.

Close to 1000 athletes and their peer coaches are registered for the Special Olympics.

Events include:

  • Track (wheelchair races, sprints, relay, 200 m)
  • Field (softball throw, long jump, standing jump (elementary only) and shot put (secondary only)
  • Special events (a variety games for athletes with varying abilities) 

What: TVDSB Special Olympics

When: June 7, 8, 9, 2022, 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. daily

Rain dates: June 10 and 13

Where: Western Alumni Stadium, Western University, London
